Hi, I am Jonathan Haack, and I run Haack's Networking, an IT company (DBA) that leverages Free Software principles and focuses primarily on students, educators, and small businesses. When you donate to me and/or Haack's Networking, your contribution goes directly towards the $4K Brown Rice Data Center costs for my 2u SuperMicro Xeon running Debian w/ some virsh+qemu and Cockpit.
The SuperMicro server powers the community-based and open registration Mastodon or gnulinux.social, Matrix or gnulinux.club, PeerTube or gnulinux.tube, and Castopod or gnulinux.news. The current server required 8 enterprise Samsung SSDs, beautiful SAS backplane, 4 giant 18TB WaterPanther platters, 384GB of RAM, and dual Xeon Silvers and more.
Donations are appreciated! They not only go directly to co-location costs, but if/when that threshold is met, they go to upgrades, repairs, and/or hot spare development.
